Saturday Shopping - The Department

The beautiful gold leaf sign on the front window of The Department on High Street Windsor was what actually made me stop here and the inside is was no disapointment. Full of gorgeous vintage dressings this is a great place to stock up on gifts for girlfriends. With Chapel Street right around the corner it's the perfect location for some shopping and brunch on a Saturday morning.

I grabbed Simon Coll chocolate for a friends birthday and I think she was very happy!

Spotlight - Carmella Shopper

Our favourite Sarah Conners bag this month is the Carmella Shopper, the little known cousins of our extremely popular Carmella Tote. The Shopper has been a favourite of mine for work for a long time, I use it for carrying my laptop and any papers I am taking to a meeting without them getting crushed. Intellectual, Challenging and funny, reading Ambuji is a thrill. Ambu's blog wanders through fashion, art, food and travel and manges to weave them all together with beautiful images, commentary and a very personal view of the world. The post on the horror of the Gym is one of my favourites and sits perfectly with other post about the way women view and use their bodies and the economics of luxury brands.

Thrifty Tips

We were included in the Herald Sun on the weekend with lots of other designers sharing our favourite thrifty and stylish tips. This was actually a table setting that I put together for a birthday lunch back in February when the roses in my garden were beautiful.

As my Mother pointed out heading all the way to China to get paper bags isn't so thrifty! Good point, but I was already there for work a couple of years ago...I am fan of hanging on to beautiful and quirky things, they always come in handy sooner or later.
